Hello, I’m Dr. Naauman Zaheer, the owner and founder of Jackson Family Dental, a start-up dental practice in Kansas City, MO. I first attended the University of Missouri-Rolla’s School for Mechanical Engineering where I received my first degree. I then started my professional career as a mechanical engineer for a government nuclear weapons plant in Kansas City, as their product and quality control engineer.

After meeting my then-future wife Kristen, a dental hygienist, I realized I was indeed on the wrong career path. I was truly missing the personal human interaction. I had the opportunity to shadow several dentists in Kristen’s dental office and while there, fell in love with the entire dental environment. I saw the “patient appointment” through different lenses and saw how my engineering background worked seamlessly in the merging of both professions.

I easily understood the mechanics of “the bite”, the impressions, and how to fix, adjust, and create ideal occlusions while factoring in all the external biting forces. Working with my hands and using tools has always been a joy for me. I grew up working on engines and motorcycles, taking apart, fixing, and rebuilding motors. another reason why I love working on complex cases with multiple extraneous factors and truly enjoy creating dental treatment plans that work for my patients.
